Clothing for medical professionals and Prolen® Medical fabrics are made of 100% polypropylene fibre Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh, which is treated with a permanent antimicrobial treatment based on silver and zinc ions, and which meets the requirements of health safety according to the applicable legislation of the Slovak Republic and the European Union. The antimicrobial additive is homogeneously distributed in the Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh polypropylene fibre mass, with efficacy throughout the lifetime of the final product.
Treatment with silver and zinc ions provides effective ANTIVIRAL AND ANTIMICROBIAL protection, reduces unpleasant odours, ensures hygienic freshness and cleanliness and reduces the risk of cross-contamination.
The antimicrobial treatment of Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh fibres is permanent, does not penetrate your skin and does not wash out into the waste water, as is the case with surface antimicrobially treated textiles (cotton, polyester), for example.
The Prolen® Medical product line complies with EN 13795-1 (surgical drapes, gowns and clean air garments used as medical devices for patients, medical staff and equipment) and contributes to the prevention of contamination in the hospital environment with a major impact on infections associated with medical and nursing care.

Recommended use:
The product is suitable for protection for casual wear in hospital facilities, when handling and visiting in medical facilities, clinics, wellness salons, spas, etc. Its material composition provides enhanced protection against viruses and bacteria. It prevents the penetration of foreign substances to the skin. The product is easy to wash even from chemical stains and grease, it dries easily and quickly and there is no need to iron it. It is low-maintenance.
Recommended treatment:
The Prolen® Medical product can be washed and sterilized several times until it is mechanically damaged. The product lifetime is a minimum of 100 washes with preservation of antimicrobial properties.
- Wash between 40ºC and 70ºC, recommended temperature 60°C.
- We recommend blasting at 400 rpm, max. 600 rpm.
- Cleaning agent: any type, disinfectants including chlorine are allowed.
- Do not use fabric softener to maintain the hydrophobicity of the product.
- Drying: fast drying, zero water absorption.
- Dryer: recommended temperature 40ºC / max. 40ºC; duration: 20 min. + 5 min. cold.
- Drying tunnel: recommendation 70ºC, max 70ºC.
- Ironing: do not iron directly, only low temperature ironing with steam is allowed.
- After the washing or drying process is complete, it is recommended to hang or fold the garments immediately to reduce the number of folds.
- Sterilization max. up to 135°C.
