Prolen® Medical Antimicrobial Facial Drapes (Type II)

Prolen® Medical Textile Face Drapes (Type II) are made from 100% polypropylene certified Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh fibers that are permanently treated with a silver and zinc ion based antimicrobial additive registered for use as antimicrobial ingredients under the EU Biocidal Products Directive.

The antimicrobial additives are homogeneously distributed in the Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh polypropylene fibre mass with efficacy throughout the lifetime of the final product. Active ingredients with silver and zinc ions in Prolen® Medical textile drapes provide effective antimicrobial protection, reduce unpleasant odours, ensure hygienic freshness and cleanliness and reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

Prolen® Medical woven and knitted protective face masks have been certified to European Standard EN 14683+AC:2019, Type 2 and CE Declaration of Conformity 93/41/EEC (Class 1). Within this standard the following have been met:

The antibacterial properties of Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh fabrics are confirmed by laboratory tests according to AATCC TM 100:2012 (tested for Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus with > 99.99% reduction), the antiviral properties of Prolen® Siltex and Prolen® Bodyfresh areconfirmed by a test protocol according to ISO 18184:2019 ( influenza virus A, subtype H1N1 with a reduction > 99% and coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 with a reduction of 99% in Prolen® Bodyfresh fibre were tested), the antifungal
properties are confirmed by a test protocol according to AATCC 30 ( Aspergillus Niger fungus was tested with a resultant reduction in Prolen® Bodyfresh fibre).

Prolen® Medical 95 fabrics have been certified to European Standard EN13795-1: Surgical Gowns, Gowns and Clean Air Garments for use as medical devices for patients, medical staff and equipment with standard performance.
