How to care for Prolen ® Medical clothing?

As well as helping to reduce the risk of infection transmission, Prolen® Medical's antibacterial and antiviral clothing is also low maintenance. Learn how to wash, dry and store it to make your clothes last as long as possible.

Laundry

Prolen ® Medical medical clothing is washed at temperatures between 40°C and 60°C depending on how dirty the clothing is. The general recommended washing temperature is 60°C with a spin speed of 400 rpm. This temperature will not spoil anything and the clothes will be perfectly clean.

We use any type of detergent for washing, including those containing chlorine. If we are laundering white medical garments, we can use a powder that helps to whiten the fabric. It is not recommended to add fabric softener to the laundry to maintain the hydrophobicity of the clothes.

The advantage is that the fabric from which the clothes are sewn can withstand up to 300 washes, which significantly extends its life. At the same time, the clothes are lightweight, so energy costs are also reduced.

Drying

Prolen ® Medical clothing dries quickly and has zero water absorption. After washing, just hang it on the drying rack and it will dry in a few hours.

If tumble drying is chosen, drying at 40°C is recommended. Dry the clothes for 20 minutes hot and finally 5 minutes cold. When using a drying tunnel, the recommended temperature is 70°C. After drying, fold the garments immediately or hang them on a hanger to prevent wrinkling and reduce the number of folds.

Ironing

Prolen ® Medical clothing does not need to be ironed. If we do decide to use an iron, we never iron directly to avoid damaging the clothes. When ironing, we use low temperatures using steam.

Storage

We use good quality hangers to store clothes or put them in chimneys. Since textiles need to breathe, we recommend storing only a few pieces in a single chimney.
